Join a leading healthcare organization as an Inpatient Scheduler, where you’ll play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient care. You will be the first point of contact for many patients, acting as a crucial link between patients and the Interventional Radiology Service. As an Inpatient Scheduler, you will be immersed in a dynamic environment, collaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurse coordinators. Your organizational skills and ability to manage a high volume of calls will be essential to success. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of patients while working alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage the scheduling of clinic appointments, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing patient wait times.
- Proactively contact patients to schedule pre-operative appointments, providing clear instructions and answering any questions.
- Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners to coordinate patient care and ensure smooth transitions between appointments.
- Provide support to managers by assisting with patient scheduling adjustments, opening and blocking schedules, and running reports for various locations.
- Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls, demonstrating exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain diligent patient follow-up after procedures, ensuring continuity of care and addressing any concerns.
- Schedule new and returning patients for imaging studies and clinic visits, accurately capturing patient information and appointment details.
- Upload radiology images to designated systems (PACS and Life Image) and obtain medical records via RightFax, ensuring timely access to critical information.
- Scan and distribute outside medical records, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings, contributing to team discussions and staying informed about departmental updates.
- Cross-train in all job functions to support team flexibility and coverage.
Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic PC skills (Windows, Excel, and Word)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with computer systems and software used in a healthcare setting
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service, solve problems effectively, and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to adapt communication style to the needs of diverse audiences
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
- Ability to build strong relationships with providers, nurses, staff, and patients, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Knowledge of EPIC and PACS systems

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $36 to $41 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
