As our Accounting Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting financial reporting and operational excellence across multiple business areas. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Accounting, you will partner with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, compliance with US GAAP and IFRS, and optimized accounting processes.
In this role, you will manage month-end close activities, oversee tariff reviews and analysis, lead financial reporting for specific business entities (including our Canada operations), and support continuous improvements across accounting systems and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end general ledger close in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Oversee financial reporting and reconciliation activities for corporate office expenses, our clients offics in Canada, and Direct Tax.
- Lead tariff reviews and analysis, ensuring compliance with global trade policies and accurate cost allocation across product categories.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports to support business decision-making.
- Perform FX revaluations and ensure timely, accurate reporting of foreign currency impacts.
- Support the S/4HANA implementation, ensuring accurate data migration and testing of new financial processes.
- Identify risks and process gaps, implement key internal controls, and drive continuous improvement in accounting operations.
- Liaise with external auditors and support audit deliverables.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to improve internal controls, risk management, and reporting efficiency.
- Define and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring consistency across business units.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA, CA, or MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within retail, beauty, or consumer goods.
- Hands-on experience with tariff reviews, customs compliance, and cost analysis preferred.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS principles.
- Proficiency with SAP (experience with S/4HANA a plus).
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, macros).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage competing priorities effectively.
