This dynamic role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge materials. You will play a crucial role in the entire material creation process, from initial concept to commercialization and production. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll ensure that materials meet stringent quality, performance, and sustainability standards. Your expertise will be essential in driving innovation and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the material creation process from concept to commercialization, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to product specifications, sustainability goals, and profitability targets.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for assigned materials, including product specifications and prototypes.
  • Track and facilitate sampling and prototyping, identifying and addressing key manufacturing challenges.
  • Monitor and communicate challenges throughout the testing process to ensure materials meet integrity requirements.
  • Stay informed about market trends, new technologies, and consumer preferences to guide material selection and development.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing on pricing strategies.
  • Serve as a technical advisor on materials to Product Developers, providing expert guidance and support.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 0-1 years of directly relevant work experience or one of the following: PhD or Law + 1 yr; Masters + 0-3 yrs; Associates degree + 1-3 yrs; High School + 3-5 yrs
  • Strong knowledge of textiles, materials science, apparel construction, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve material-related issues throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in MS Excel

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $24.00 to $26.67 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
