Join a leading technology innovator as a Gameplay Development Support specialist, partnering with a renowned game development studio through Aquent. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of gameplay, collaborating closely with development teams to provide early testing, meticulous documentation, and essential support that empowers the core QA team to focus on in-game testing. Your expertise will directly impact the quality and refinement of gameplay mechanics, ensuring a seamless and immersive player experience.
As a Gameplay Development Support specialist, you will be the linchpin between QA and development, driving quality and efficiency throughout the development lifecycle. You will be instrumental in providing feedback to QA Leads on feature health, collaborating with development teams on testing progress, and addressing design inquiries from Core QA. Responsibilities:
- Conduct early testing of gameplay features, providing crucial feedback to development teams.
- Create comprehensive documentation, including test cases, test briefs, and knowledge-base articles.
- Proactively identify and address potential roadblocks that could hinder the Core QA team’s in-game testing efforts.
- Provide regular updates to QA Leads on the health and stability of assigned areas/features.
- Collaborate closely with development teams on testing progress and address any emerging issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the QA team, fielding design-related questions and providing expert guidance.
- Monitor and analyze testing results, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Experience across multiple development cycles with a strong emphasis on gameplay testing.
- Deep understanding of gameplay mechanics, encompassing combat systems, enemy AI, cover mechanics, weapon functionality, equipment, and character loadouts.
- Familiarity with animation systems and their integration with gameplay.
- Proven ability to write clear, concise testing instructions and briefs.
- Strong skills in estimating testing efforts and defining task scope.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and continuously refining technical and testing skills.
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills to support efficient test planning and knowledge sharing.
- Superior communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with QA, Development, and Production teams.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with Unreal Engine.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Perforce, and SharePoint.
- Strong, adaptable teaching skills suited to diverse learning styles.
- Familiarity with similar games in the same genre and their core gameplay systems.
