Our client is leading game development studio known for its cutting-edge work on a critically acclaimed series is seeking a talented and passionate Intermediate Character Artist to join their team. As a key member of the character art team, you will play a pivotal role in bringing captivating characters to life, shaping the visual narrative, and pushing the boundaries of in-game realism.

As an Intermediate Character Artist, you will collaborate closely with a team of experienced artists and designers to create high-quality character assets. Your expertise in sculpting, modeling, and texturing will be essential in crafting visually stunning and technically sound characters that meet the highest standards of the industry. Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality character models, meeting the artistic and technical standards set by the Art Director and Lead Character Artist.
  • Collaborate effectively with the character art team to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
  • Actively participate in feedback sessions, incorporating input from the Art Director and Lead Character Artist to refine and improve your work.
  • Maintain consistency in the visual style and quality of character assets, ensuring they align with the overall game vision.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of character creation pipelines and workflows.
  • Meet established production deadlines and manage your time effectively.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in character art for video games, with at least one shipped title.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, sculpting, 3D modeling, texturing (high- and low-resolution), and creating game-ready characters.
  • Experience creating both human and creature characters.
  • Proficiency in Maya, ZBrush, Unreal Engine, and Substance Painter.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with Metahuman.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $50/hr – $56/hr.
