Level Designer

Overview

This is a hybrid role in Vancouver.
Pay Range: $55/hr – $59/hr​

Our client is a leader in the gaming space. As a Level Designer, you will collaborate closely with the Lead Level Designer and other team members to design, build, and iterate on dynamic and immersive levels. You’ll be responsible for owning the design and quality of your levels, ensuring they are both visually stunning and offer engaging gameplay experiences. This is your chance to contribute to a game that pushes the boundaries of interactive entertainment.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement engaging and high-quality levels from concept to final polish.
• Utilize Unreal Engine and proprietary tools to build and refine game levels.
• Collaborate with level artists, technical designers, and other disciplines to ensure a cohesive vision.
• Implement gameplay challenges, combat scenarios, objectives, and scripted events.
• Participate in playtesting and provide feedback to improve level design.
• Create and maintain design documentation.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in level design, with at least one shipped action-shooter or action-adventure console title.
• 3+ years of experience working with visual game editors, ideally Unreal Engine.
• Strong understanding of level design principles, constraints, and narrative integration.
• Experience with gameplay systems implementation within levels.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience with scripting languages and game consoles.
• Awareness of accessibility and inclusivity in video games and work environments.
• Strong desire to improve workflows and pipelines.
