Technical Writer

Overview

Responsibilities:
•Collaborate with the Content writing team and Program Managers to identify content to focus on based on priority needs.
• Work with stakeholders who use the product to gather information and turn it into customer ready content.
•Create new articles and update existing articles to reflect the latest features and functionality, in support of their needs. This includes assisting with content freshness efforts and SEO improvements.
• Author the documentation and test/validate and configurations that will be published.
• Respond to reviewer feedback and incorporate feedback as needed.
• Deliver documentation according to specifications and priorities provided by team
• Use content team tools, process, style guide and publishing guidelines to deliver high quality documentation. Tools GitHub, Markdown language, and Azure DevOps

Skills required:
• 3-5 years of technical writing experience and/or experience creating technical, customer facing content, specifically IT pro and DevOps content
• Experience writing Azure and/or Windows Server documentation and or Windows Server knowledge is a plus
• Ability to be self-sufficient and ability to work independently.
• Experience or familiarity with markdown and GitHub is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications, Journalism, English, Computer Science or related field preferred. Work related experience may substitute for degree.
