About the Role

Our client is seeking a Manager, Communications Research & Insights to join their Global Communications & Public Affairs team. This role is focused on delivering data-driven analysis and insights across media channels to inform communications strategy, measure impact, and identify risks and opportunities.

Your expertise will help guide communications teams with actionable insights drawn from earned media coverage across news, social, broadcast, and print.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze media coverage related to company announcements, industry developments, and emerging issues (e.g., regulatory rulings, AI tools).
  • Produce written reports and insights for communications teams, translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Track the impact of both long-term reputation initiatives and immediate events/issues.
  • Provide advisory input to communications teams, highlighting urgent issues, key outlets driving coverage, and potential risks or opportunities.
  • Utilize industry-standard tools and methodologies for media monitoring, analysis, and reporting.

Day-to-Day Work

  • Analyze media coverage of key announcements and issues.
  • Produce concise written reports and insights for internal comms teams.
  • Monitor long-term reputation initiatives and assess immediate impact of events/issues.
  • Provide strategic input based on media data to inform communications decisions.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience at large PR/communications agencies
  • Strong analytical skills, bridging journalistic/editorial insights with quantitative analysis.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to distill complex datasets into actionable recommendations.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with short timelines.

     

Must-have:

  • Expertise in media monitoring, Boolean queries, and earned media analysis.
  • Familiarity with tracking journalist/editorial coverage.
  • Experience producing insights and reports that inform communications strategy.

Tools:

  • Brandwatch, Cision, Meltwater, Talkwalker

Nice-to-have:

  • SQL
