As a Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the data infrastructure that fuels critical business decisions. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, translating their needs into robust technical solutions. Your expertise in Snowflake and Power BI will be essential in building and optimizing datasets, crafting insightful dashboards and reports, and ensuring data quality and security. 2 days per week required onsite in St. Louis.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines that support analytics and reporting.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and transform them into technical specifications.
  • Build, optimize, and manage datasets and schemas within the Snowflake environment.
  • Develop compelling Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable business insights.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all platforms.
  • Troubleshoot data issues, optimize query performance, and implement best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data scientists, and IT professionals.
  • Meticulously document processes, workflows, and data models for long-term maintainability.

Must-Haves:

  • Strong experience with Snowflake (data modeling, query optimization, warehouse management).
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Power BI (report building, DAX, data modeling).
  • Proficiency in SQL and data transformation techniques.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT workflows and tools (e.g., dbt, Informatica, Talend, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for data engineering.
  • Knowledge of APIs and integration methods.
  • Prior experience in a contract or consulting role.
