This position will be mostly remote but candidate must live in BC and may go onsite occasionally in Surrey
The hours for this position may range from about 15-37.5 hours/week
Our client, a Canadian-owned and BC-based energy company is looking for a strong Web Specialist. This role primarily focuses on content management rather than web development.

Responsibilities

  • HTML/CSS Proficiency: Hand-code and adjust web content ensuring pages are well-structured and visually polished
  • User Permissions & Access Control: Set up and manage user roles, group permissions, and access controls for intranet security
  • Content Governance: Enforce content standards and governance practices, keeping information consistent and aligned with organizational policies
  • Content Formatting & Styling: Ensure content is well-organized and adheres to established style/branding guidelines
  • Stakeholder Communication & Support: Train and support content contributors, collaborate with stakeholders, assist with content updates
  • Create web templates and forms that adhere to corporate guidelines
  • Plan and design information architecture
  • Perform search engine optimization and conduct search research
  • Act as liaison between end users and IT service groups
  • Maintain content author permissions and implement workflow based on client requirements
  • Create and maintain support reference material and training documents
  • Participate in development, testing, and implementation of web applications (includes maintenance, identifying bug fixes and enhancements)
  • Market and promote web services to existing and prospective clients; conduct presentations to potential client groups
  • Troubleshoot web-related operational problems
  • Prepare and optimize images and videos for web applications

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years directly related experience
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML programming and cascading style sheets
  • Advanced knowledge of web content management systems and collaborative platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of website infrastructure and design
  • Ability to create online forms and working knowledge of video streaming sites

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills, including ability to share knowledge and skills with others
  • Ability to provide leadership, direction and support to internal clients and external consultants
  • Ability to provide customer service in a large complex organization with knowledge of web and communication mediums
  • Ability to conduct research and provide trend analysis
  • Business analyst experience an asset
  • Competence in managing small to medium-sized projects
  • Nice to have: Igloo Platform Expertise – experience with Igloo Software’s backend administration tools

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $35 to $40 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
