Our client is seeking a Data Engineer – Power BI & Azure Synapse to join their team. In this consultant opportunity, you will build and optimize cutting-edge data solutions that directly fuel business decisions and drive innovation. You will be a pivotal part of a team modernizing their data landscape.
As a Data Engineer, you will specialize in Power BI and Azure Synapse, and be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and notebooks within the Azure ecosystem. Your expertise will empower the organization to harness the power of its data, enabling data-driven insights and informed decision-making.
What You Will Do:
- PowerBI dashboard development – should be advanced in creating visualizations
- Development of reports within Azure Synapse – schedule and manage jobs utilizing Azure Synapse Pipelines and scheduling tools.
- Develop and maintain notebooks and pipelines within Azure Synapse Workspaces and/or Azure Databricks, interacting with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) Gen 2.
- Provide production support, troubleshooting issues in batch runs of pipelines and notebooks.
- Write and optimize code in PySpark and SQL on Serverless SQL.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data processing workflows to maintain reliability and efficiency.
- Implement best practices for data management, security, and compliance.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 2+ Years experience building PowerBI dashboards within a complex business environment
- Proven experience with Azure Synapse or Azure Databricks and ADLS Gen 2.
- Strong proficiency in PySpark and SQL.
- Experience with scheduling and managing jobs using enterprise scheduling tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues in data pipelines.
- Familiarity with Serverless SQL.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
Experience with other Azure services and tools.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
Certification in Azure Data Engineering, Azure Databricks, or related areas.
