As an Interaction Designer at a leading financial institution partnered with Aquent, you will shape the digital experiences for millions of users. Your expertise in interaction design will be crucial in transforming how users interact with cutting-edge financial products, impacting their financial well-being and contributing to the company’s position as a global digital leader. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and innovative team. You will be involved in the entire design process, from ideation to implementation, working closely with cross-functional teams to create intuitive and engaging user experiences. Your work will directly impact the usability and accessibility of financial products, shaping how users manage their finances.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop interaction design strategies based on user interface patterns, behaviors, and best practices.
  • Utilize visualizations and interactions to support analytic thinking with large datasets.
  • Facilitate design critiques, evaluate interactions for inclusivity, and provide expert guidance to cross-functional teams.
  • Lead ideation sessions and collaborative work activities.
  • Create low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and complex prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate design ideas.
  • Develop high-fidelity prototypes to provide detailed specifications for development teams.
  • Conduct usability testing and participate in research activities to inform design decisions.
  • Research interaction design strategies within the financial services sector and perform competitive audits.
  • Present interaction design work to senior stakeholders.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing usable interfaces across multiple channels and platforms.
  • Experience in an applied research setting, including integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
  • Proven ability to articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic, describing benefits and highlighting risks associated with design decisions.
  • Demonstrated expertise with design, prototyping, and research tools such as Figma, Mural, and UserTesting.com.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • MA/MS degree or certification in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
  • Appreciation for the potential of “design thinking.”
  • Experience working within a large organization and within an agile environment.
