As a Merchandise Planner, you’ll drive financial success by maximizing sales, optimizing inventory, and ensuring profitability. In this exciting role, you’ll be responsible for crafting compelling merchandise plans that tell a story for the season, creating consumer-centric offerings grounded in profitability. You’ll analyze sales results, forecast in-season sales and inventories, and collaborate with retail partners to achieve maximum sales and profits. Your proactive approach to reporting and facilitating smart business decisions will be essential to the success of this team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute merchandise plans that align with seasonal trends and consumer preferences, driving profitability and sales growth.
- Analyze sales data, forecast in-season sales and inventories, and identify opportunities to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with retail partners to manage sales and inventory plans, ensuring alignment with overall financial objectives.
- Proactively monitor business health, identify potential risks and opportunities, and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Drive process improvements and contribute to the standardization of planning processes and documentation.
- Provide key retail insights to support the account team in the go-to-market process.
- Collaborate with the account team to align product assortment with retailer sales, margin, and turn goals.
- Analyze historical sales data to inform assortment planning by location cluster, gender, category, and class.
- Evaluate retailer assortment needs against category objectives, identify potential opportunities, and communicate associated risks.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of directly relevant merchandise planning experience.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered (e.g., PhD or Law + 3 yrs; Masters + 4 yrs; Associates degree + 6 yrs; High School + 7 yrs).
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $36 to $40 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
