Technical Designer (Apparel)

Overview

We are looking for a Technical Designer (Apparel) to join  our retail client’s team. You will play a crucial role in bringing designs to life, ensuring garments meet the highest standards of fit, quality, and manufacturability. This is your opportunity to contribute your expertise to a dynamic environment and see your work come to fruition. As a Technical Designer, you will be responsible for the entire technical design process, from initial development to the final, perfect fit. You’ll analyze garments, develop precise fit specifications, and guide pattern development. Your keen eye for detail and understanding of manufacturing processes will be essential in ensuring that each garment meets quality standards, cost targets, and design integrity.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate garments to develop accurate fit specifications and pattern direction.
• Ensure product development aligns with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities, and cost specifications.
• Develop technical specifications and communicate fit requirements to vendors/factories for approvals and pattern revisions.
• Collaborate with factories to make necessary adjustments, maintaining design integrity, quality, and target price.

Requirements

• 3-7 years of experience in technical design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or equivalent experience.
• Experience with PLM, Adobe Illustrator, Optitex software (nice to have)

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $47.90 to $53.23 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
