Technical Designer

Overview

Our famous apparel client is looking for a Technical Designer to join their team supporting Women’s apparel. This will be a 4-month temp engagement onsite with a possible extension.  The ideal candidate has technical design experience in wovens, denim, and fleece. 

Responsibilities

• Individual contributor position responsible for executing the technical design process from development to final fit.
• Responsible for analyzing and evaluating garments to develop the correct fit specifications.
• Ensures that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities, and cost specifications.
• Develops technical specifications and communicates fit to vendors/factories for approvals and corrections.
• Makes appropriate adjustments with factories as required to ensure the integrity of design-approved prototypes while monitoring quality and targeted price.
• Patternmaking, diagramming, and understanding fit and balance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical design skills, including patternmaking and diagramming.
• Proficiency in PLM systems
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
• Knowledge of fit, sizing, and grading.
• Experience working with various fabrics, including wovens, denim, and fleece.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $40.00 to $43.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
