Do you live and breathe the latest TikTok and social media trends and enjoy creating engaging content across all social channels? If so, this may be a great opportunity for you! Our Toronto-based leading retail client is seeking a Social Copywriter /Content Creator on a part-time basis (20-30 hours / week). This is a contract opportunity in the Toronto area – most of the work can be done remotely, but must be able to attend monthly Copy meetings in office and attend a weekly photo shoot (3-4 hours) in the Toronto area. Budget is approved for 6 months, but could likely extend past that. This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door at one of Canada’s most iconic retila brands! In this role, you will create engaging, on-brand, omni-channel content including social posts, paid ads, emails, and digital banner ads. You will be partnering with a videographer / editor to create short videos / paid ads that will catch attention with its customers. Must have experience creating content for a Gen Z audience across TikTok, SnapChat, and Meta (Instragram & Facebook).

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Editing and refining e-commerce and stakeholder requests into customer-facing copy using company’s tone of voice.
  • Work closely with Copy Manager to ensure copy style guides and best practices are adhered to.
  • Collaborate with designers, studio and project managers through the review process and feedback stages.
  • Create short Tik Tok, Meta video scripts, OLVs (Promo Social Videos)
  • Collaborate on storyboard concepts and brainstorming with the creative team on various marketing projects.
  • Write ad copy for performance marketing creative ads. Ex. Google ads, P-Max ads.

Key Skills / Experience

  • Super savvy on Meta, Instagram, Tik Tok and Snap Chat social channels.
  • Lives and breathes the newest trends on Tik Tok and can easily apply them to the retail space.
  • Write fun, engaging and compelling copy including short video scripts, supers, carousel headlines and more.
  • Able to translate marketing briefs into concepts and ideas.
  • Collaborate on storyboard concepts and brainstorming with the creative team on various marketing projects.
  • Performance Marketing ads/SEM copy/ Emails
  • Experience with Strategy Marketing projects that include copy for carousel copy/videos
  • Excellent ad-writing skills and a good grasp of CP style, spelling and grammar.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to attend a virtual weekly meeting, weekly in-store photo shoots and an in-person monthly copy meeting.
  • Excellent time management skills are a must.
