Boston, MA – May 08, 2026 – Aquent, a global workforce solutions company, has won a Webby Award in the Corporate Social Responsibility category for its groundbreaking climate action initiatives. This achievement marks a defining milestone in Aquent’s multi-year mission to set a new sustainability standard for the staffing solutions industry.
Now in its 30th year, the Webby Awards have been designated by The New York Times as the “Internet’s highest honor.” Presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), the awards are competitive, with winners selected from the top 25% of thousands of global entries. Aquent’s win credits the company for its leadership in sustainability and climate action.
Aquent’s journey to reduce and eliminate its carbon footprint began in 2020, when Aquent pivoted to a virtual-first workplace. By eliminating 170,000 square feet of office space across 30 global locations, scaling back business travel, and moving its data storage to a renewable energy facility, the company reduced carbon emissions by 72%.
In the following years, Aquent considered new ways to further its impact and launched six solar farms in coal-reliant states like Indiana and Ohio to maximize carbon displacement. These projects, which came online in 2024 and 2025, have driven a 500% increase in the company’s carbon offsets. Aquent’s commitment to sustainability resulted in the company becoming a certified Scope 3 vendor, meaning it doesn’t add emissions to client supply chains. As the first carbon-negative company in its industry, Aquent sets an example for other workforce solutions companies on how to take real, measurable action against climate change.
“The Webby Awards are highly competitive, and this is our first Webby win to date. It is an incredibly proud moment for the entire organization. We had a big idea, a compelling story, and results that helped us break through, ” said Andrew Morse, Executive Creative Director at Aquent. This campaign realized the bold vision of becoming carbon negative by John H. Chuang, CEO and Founder of Aquent. Chuang said, “We are honored to be recognized for our efforts in climate action and remain determined to continue reducing our historical environmental impact to create a better planet for us all.”
This Webby Award brings Aquent’s climate action medal count to five—including two from Anthem, one from W3, and one from Digiday—further validating the company's mission to remain a carbon-negative leader in the global workforce.
