If you were lucky enough to be alive in the mid-eighties, you might have just tried “New Coke” (and not liked it). You may have watched a Live Aid concert or been enthralled by the film “The Color Purple,” which you could have seen in a theater for around $3.00 to $3.50 a ticket.
At Harvard, three friends (John Chuang, Mia Wenjen, and Steve Kapner) taught themselves desktop publishing. Then, they formed a design business out of their dorm rooms. Two years later, it transitioned to MacTemps, a staffing firm. For the next 12 years, the company expanded exponentially and internationally. Finally, in 1999, we became Aquent.
Since then, we have never stopped raising the bar. From comprehensive benefits and free online training for talent to service offerings that help our clients improve their business, we've invested in our talent and clients from the beginning. This was most evident in 2020, when we revolutionized the staffing industry by introducing two new hourly talent benefits—sick pay in all 50 states and Canada and a retirement plan employer match with immediate vesting.
We want to say thanks to everyone who has made our success over the past 35 years possible. We look forward to pushing the boundaries of what's possible for another 35 years and beyond.
