While many companies are giving their employees the option to work remotely, Aquent is making it a permanent policy for most of its staff nationwide. That means all of the employees at Aquent's, East Moline, Illinois, office, who have been working remotely for over a year, will continue to do so, permanently. By using a variety of collaboration tools like Zoom and Google Hangouts, Aquent says that productivity has actually increased while their teams have worked remotely. According to Erin Bloom, Head of Culture and Community at Aquent, “when we have staff working remote, it eliminates long commutes and they can spend more time with their families, and they have more quality time to get work done because it's more on their own terms.” Aquent will use the savings to make significant investments in their teams by offering more educational opportunities and events when it's safe to gather again. They are also planning to keep about ten percent of their offices around the country open for large meetings, special projects and certain clients.
