Design Director- Product Representation

We are seeking a Design Director with the detailed design expertise to lead the full funnel vision of brand design and product imagery, including photography, CG, 3D renders and motion.

This requires managing our product representation from concept to delivery.

In an increasingly visual and digitally-driven market, the subtle nuances of product presentation are paramount to consumer perception and trust.

For a hardware brand, our photoreal rendering and visual depiction of the product—especially in marketing and sales materials—is a direct surrogate for the product’s quality, craftsmanship, and material integrity.

As we continue to elevate our brand, we need to make sure the product is represented in a way that shows the premium nature of the device, cuts through a cluttered media environment and remains consistent through a variety of consumer touchpoints from physical retail, digital placements, Social D/OOH and Film/TV.

Insights (the objective):
Have a clear vision for how the product will be presented in marketing materials.
Sweat the details on how it is executed.
Be the final visual authority and quality control checkpoint.
For our continued success as a brand, we need to ensure our product renders and UI screens are not just technically correct, but are also emotionally compelling, perfectly consistent, and maximally effective for marketing and sales. Our goal is to drive feelings not features and this needs to be as true of our hardware and UI representation as it is our narrative storytelling.

Success here will require understanding industrial design and product hardware development, the nuances of lighting, color, material, and finish and how environments and lighting can interplay with hardware, as well as the technical requirements of media delivery, including post-production processes for print and digital/film.

Deliverables:
• Vision for hardware products and how they appear in marketing materials to drive a consistent brand and cut through.
• Direct collaboration with industrial designers and color/material/finish specialists.
• Refinement of our creative development and execution pipeline to make sure we are developing and executing our marketing collateral in a way that allows for best-in-class creative output but also allows us to be nimble and good stewards of resources.
• Art direction of practical photography as well as 3D renders of core products – in both single color spaces and developed scenes
• Marry the reality of the industrial design vision, the reality of the CMF to the marketing vision of the product and then sell that through.
• Drive revisions of static imagery based on the narrative developed by the brand team, and negotiate on behalf of Creative execution against ID/CMF priorities in the product design space.
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to uphold global color, material, and finish standards, and build asset toolkits to support higher-level brand guidelines.

The Opportunity: Go beyond mere compliance to establish the highest global standard for visual asset consistency.

Future Opportunity:
Elevating Brand Fidelity into a Competitive Differentiator
