Our tech client is looking for a high-level, Executive Keynote Speech Writer who will be instrumental in crafting compelling and impactful speeches for our client’s C-level executives, including the Chief Marketing Officer. The primary focus of this position is to translate complex ideas and strategic initiatives into engaging narratives for large, high-profile industry events. The ideal Talent will possess a unique ability to tell stories that captivate audiences, ensuring messages are authentic, insightful, and inspiring, rather than merely promotional. This is a specialized writing role, demanding a deep understanding of executive voice and audience engagement, and is vital to enhancing the client’s presence and influence in the market.
- This is a fully remote role, must be able to align to East Coast hours for some meetings
- Project-based, approximately 5-7 Keynotes annually
- Must have proven samples of written speeches, video recordings preferred
Responsibilities:
- Craft compelling and engaging keynote speeches for C-level executives for major industry events.
- Collaborate closely with executives, including the CMO, to understand key messages, strategic objectives, and desired storytelling approach.
- Translate complex technical or business concepts (e.g., data security) into clear, impactful, and audience-appropriate narratives.
- Ensure speeches are authentic to the executive’s voice and align with company values, avoiding overly “sales pitchy” tones.
- Participate in practice sessions with executives, providing support and making real-time adjustments as needed.
- Manage the speechwriting process for approximately 6-7 projects annually, with intensive periods leading up to major events.
- Work effectively with a presentation designer to align speech content with visual elements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a speechwriter for C-level executives, particularly for large-scale industry keynotes.
- Exceptional storytelling ability, capable of captivating diverse audiences and simplifying complex information.
- Strong ability to understand and articulate complex subject matter, ideally within the technology sector (e.g., data security).
- Demonstrated ability to write engaging content that is informative and inspiring, rather than purely promotional.
- Portfolio of past work, including speech samples or links to delivered keynotes (e.g., YouTube).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with executives and internal teams.
- Flexibility to work intensively during critical periods and occasionally accommodate “odd hours” for practice sessions.
