**About the Opportunity**

We’re seeking a visionary leader to serve as a subject-matter specialist, deeply understanding the goals, direction, and priorities of the business. You will be at the heart of core-problem structuring, owning the research, data gathering, business insight, and analytical depth that underpins complex strategic and operational initiatives. This role offers the chance to regularly engage with diverse stakeholders, persuasively communicating recommendations to leadership and influencing critical decisions. You will play a central role in establishing the planning and operational framework essential for success, working closely with various teams to ensure seamless alignment and execution.

**What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)**

* Lead key initiatives from inception to completion, driving team-wide projects to enhance alignment and accelerate progress.
* Collaborate closely with functional leaders and cross-functional teams to operationalize strategic recommendations.
* Synthesize and interpret trends in the future of work, translating market insights into actionable business and technology strategies, and optimizing strategic planning cycles.
* Proactively identify and address defined problems and issues across business areas, creating and implementing effective programs and processes.
* Structure complex business issues for leadership, developing solutions and documenting key requirements and business justifications.
* Support executives in defining and executing overall communications strategies, including planning internal events and aligning internal communications.
* Establish and manage robust processes for defining and tracking functional objectives (e.g., OKRs, QBRs, annual planning, budget management).
* Oversee workflows within targeting and measurement processes, fostering collaboration to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
* Provide recommendations for the development of business area strategies, working in partnership with key stakeholders.
* Drive strategic analysis to optimize business performance and ensure best-in-class execution across relevant organizational units.
* Gather and analyze extensive information efficiently, solving problems effectively, and developing compelling business recommendations.

**What You’ll Bring (Required Qualifications)**

* **Experience:** 7+ years of experience in Management Consulting, Sales Operations, Business Strategy, or a related field.
* **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
* **Strategic Planning & Business Acumen:** Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic business plans with a deep understanding of business operations.
* **Stakeholder Management:** Proven experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, including influencing senior leaders and aligning cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Go-to-Market, Finance, Business Intelligence) in ambiguous environments.
* **Financial & Analytical Acumen:** Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in financial planning, budget management, and data-driven decision-making.
* **Program Management:** Expertise in leading large-scale programs, defining project timelines, and managing deliverables for successful execution.
* **Operational Rigor:** Ability to identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and operational excellence, with demonstrated expertise in marketing funnel health, data analytics, and budget management.
* **Technical Proficiency:**
* Proficiency in spreadsheet and presentation software for data analysis, modeling, and executive-level presentations.
* Experience using Business Intelligence (BI) and data visualization tools to track and analyze performance metrics, with comfort deriving insights from data.

About the Role: 

The Marketing Strategy and Operations Manager provides crucial support to the Marketing team of the rapidly expanding Google Public Sector (GPS) business, a dedicated subsidiary of Google LLC focused on serving US government and educational institutions. Operating within a high-growth environment, GPS possesses a unique organizational structure with a separate P&L, necessitating close alignment across Go-to-Market, Customer Engineering, and finance teams to effectively drive strategic initiatives. Within this dynamic and growing organization, Marketing’s Strategy and Operations Manager plays a central role, establishing the planning and operational framework essential for success.

As a Marketing Strategy and Operations Manager, you contribute to core-problem structuring, owning research, data gathering, business insight, and analytic depth to support larger, more integrated, and complex strategic and operational initiatives within the PA, function, or sub-function. You will  interact regularly with PA, function, or sub-function stakeholders to persuasively communicate recommendations to area leadership, and influence decisions by building consensus and mobilizing towards implementation. You will  serve as a subject-matter specialist for a PA or functions’ goals, direction, and priorities, with comprehensive knowledge of how the business area fits broadly into the company, as well as its existing OKRs, KPIs, business plans, and operating plans.

  • Strategic Planning & Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute against strategic business plans, with a deep understanding of business operations, especially within the Public Sector.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, with the ability to influence and align senior leaders and cross-functional teams. Will lead complex cross-functional alignment (Marketing, GTM, Finance, BI) in an ambiguous environment.
  • Financial & Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in financial planning, budget management, and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities include: 

– Manage key initiatives from inception to completion, including team-wide initiatives on projects to drive alignment and increase velocity.

– Work closely with function leaders, product managers, and product area leadership to drive operationalization of recommendations.

– Synthesize, understand, and make recommendations regarding trends in the future of work, including designing business strategy and technology strategy in tandem, translating market insights into action, shortening of strategic planning cycles, transforming digital and agile development, and tapping into ecosystem partners.

– Proactively identify defined problems and issues across the PA, function, or sub-function and create programs and processes to solve them. Structure defined and sometimes vague business issues for leadership team, and develop solutions to business and technical problems by documenting key requirements and supporting business case justification.

– Support executives in defining overall communications strategy across the function and regions, driving the planning of internal events and aligning internal communications.

– Establish and drive processes for effectively defining the function (e.g., OKRs, QBRs, annual planning, team meetings, budget, expenses).

– Manage workflows within the targeting and measurement processes, driving collaboration and engagement across stakeholders both to ensure timely and accurate delivery of work.

– Make recommendations regarding the development of PA, function, and/or sub-function strategies, collaborating with business area stakeholders.

– Drive strategic analysis, defining ways to optimize business performance and ensure best-in-class execution within relevant PA, function, or sub-function.

– Gather and analyze large amounts of information quickly and problem solve effectively, driving the development of compelling business recommendations.

Education: 

BA in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field – or equivalent professional experience

Experience: 

7+ years of experience in Management Consulting, Sales Operations, Business Strategy, or a related field.
