Color Designer

Overview

Become a key player in shaping the color palettes of a major American clothing retailer, partnering with a dynamic team to bring the latest trends to life. As a Designer, you’ll work closely with Concept and Design teams, translating inspiration into vibrant color stories that define seasonal collections. Your expertise in color theory and application will directly impact the visual appeal and market success of the brand. This is your opportunity to make a visible impact on a beloved brand!

As a Designer, you will:

• Collaborate with Concept and Design teams to develop seasonal color palettes.
• Match colors from inspiration to retail samples, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Create digital color palettes using design software.
• Finalize color selections and communicate them to internal and external partners, including global agents, vendors, factories, and mills.
• Manage the color library, assessing inventory and developing new color standards as needed.
• Utilize color management software and spectrophotometer to provide accurate color data to cross-functional teams.
• Input seasonal color palettes into the PLM system.
• Advise CAD and Product Development teams on lab dips, strike-offs, and CAD color calibration.
• Provide Pantone matches to brand standards.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Exceptional organizational skills for maintaining swatch libraries.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet software.
• Basic knowledge of design software for digital swatch creation.
• Superior color acuity demonstrated by a high score on the Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test.
• Fluency in color management software and spectrophotometer operation.
• Strong attention to detail.
