As a key member of this innovative project, you’ll play a crucial role in transforming raw 3D scan data into meticulously crafted, production-ready assets. Your expertise will ensure these historical artifacts are preserved in a dynamic digital format for future generations. This is your opportunity to leverage your 3D artistry and technical skills to make a lasting impact. You’ll collaborate with a passionate team of 3D scanning operators and archivists, working within a fast-paced production environment. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to realism will bring these historical treasures to life in the digital realm.
Responsibilities:

  • Import and process raw 3D data, preparing it for use in real-time and high-fidelity rendering environments.
  • Clean and optimize 3D geometry for seamless integration.
  • Refine textures using Adobe Substance 3D tools, adhering to a physically based rendering (PBR) workflow.
  • Maintain visual consistency, photorealism, and performance across various platforms (high-fidelity archival, web, AR, VR).
  • Collaborate effectively with the 3D scanning operator and archivists to ensure project alignment.
  • Implement and maintain organized file structures and naming conventions for optimal asset management.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in post-processing 3D scanned data for production.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Substance 3D Painter and other Substance tools.
  • Strong understanding of PBR material workflows and real-time rendering pipelines.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as Blender.
  • Experience with retopology, UV mapping, and normal baking.
  • Strong artistic eye with meticulous attention to detail, particularly in material surface qualities and realism.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, independent production environment.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Background in digital art, VFX, or 3D production.
  • Experience with photogrammetry pipelines and automated scan processing tools.
  • Knowledge of color calibration and photographic reference processing.
  • A passion for preserving historical records and materials.
  • Familiarity with real-time rendering engines.
