Gameplay Animator

Overview

This is a hybrid role in Vancouver.
Pay Range: C$57/hr – C$63/hr​

As a key member of the Gameplay Animation team, you’ll collaborate with animators, designers, and engineers to create high-quality gameplay features. Your expertise in keyframe and motion capture animation will be essential in breathing life into dynamic characters and shaping memorable player experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Animation Director, Leads, and Designers to implement exciting new gameplay features.
• Partner with Animation Engineers and Technical Animators to integrate animation assets using cutting-edge tools and pipelines.
• Actively participate in review sessions, contributing to a culture of excellence and pushing the boundaries of animation quality.
• Contribute to internal/external motion capture shoots, ensuring high-fidelity performance capture.
• Track animation tasks and deliverables, ensuring timely completion and seamless integration.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 1+ years of gameplay animation experience.
• Proficiency in keyframe and motion capture animation.
• Strong understanding of body mechanics, timing, spacing, weight, and appeal.
• Self-motivated, creative problem-solver with excellent teamwork skills.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience working in Unreal Engine.
• Experience with Maya and/or MotionBuilder.
• AAA game production experience.
• Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Jira/Shotgun/Shotgrid).

The target hiring compensation range for this role is C$57/hr – C$63/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
