A Fortune 500 financial services company, partnered with Aquent, is seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer to join their team and revolutionize their mobile application experience. As a key player in their QA ecosystem, you will be championing quality and driving innovation through cutting-edge automation solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust test automation scripts using Appium with Java, ensuring continuous analysis and reporting of failures. You’ll collaborate with leadership to research, implement, and train fellow QA team members on Test-Driven Development and advanced automation techniques. Partnering with cross-functional teams, both internal and external, you will define environment requirements, identify cutting-edge tools, and establish best practices for automation processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of QA tooling and technology decisions, ensuring seamless end-to-end testing across multiple applications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain functional test automation scripts for mobile applications using Appium with Java.
- Ensure continuous operation of automation, analyzing results, and promptly reporting failures.
- Collaborate with leadership to research, implement, and train QA team members on Test-Driven Development and automation best practices using Appium with Java.
- Work cross-functionally with internal and external teams to define environment requirements, identify automation tools, and develop and execute best-in-class automation processes.
- Promote an end-to-end testing approach across multiple applications.
- Partner with geographically distributed teams to plan future QA tooling and technology strategies.
- Collaborate with product teams, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to integrate project plans, testing schedules, and metrics reporting.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 3+ years in Mobile Application Development
- 4+ years of experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks
- 5+ years of experience developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts
- Hands-on coding experience with Java or other object-oriented programming languages
- Working knowledge of industry-standard tools for logging bugs and managing test cases (e.g., Jira, Zephyr)
- Proven ability to successfully manage and deliver multiple geographically distributed QA projects with concurrent releases
- Solid understanding of Mobile Development on iOS and/or Android devices
- Understanding of CI/CD practices and Lean DevOps methodologies
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with XCUI and/or Espresso, Kotlin, Swift
- Financial/Trading services industry experience
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $56.52 to $62.80 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
