The Senior UX Design Manager will lead a team to articulate the strategy and design for key parts of the company’s homepage, web and mobile app shopping experiences, focused on building and mentoring the team and workflow for high impact results. The Senior UX Design Manager will use their deep understanding of consumer app patterns and retail experiences to transform how customers complete their shopping missions in the app and on the website. The Senior UX Design Manager will be accountable for the craft and timely delivery of the team’s work and own and present a strong design POV to shape market-leading solutions via the product roadmap. NOTE: this role is 100% onsite, 5 days/week in San Bruno, CA. Access to a shuttle is available.
Responsibilities:
- Designing at the highest level of craft for a broad population of customers.
- Facilitating creative problem-solving across cross-functional partners to drive best-in-class thinking from all parts of the organization and seamlessly integrating competitive organizational goals.
- Proactively soliciting, leveraging, and sharing design research, competitive research, data, and analytics to create full-featured and strategic products.
- Owning and driving a program of work and collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional partners.
- Recruiting the best design talent and mentoring the growing team.
- Thinking holistically to build true end-to-end experiences.
Requirements:
* An outstanding portfolio of elegant design solutions and case studies.
* Excellent visual and interaction design skills and a keen understanding of trends in retail.
* An ability to communicate concepts in a clear and compelling way to internal partners of all levels of understanding and levels of seniority.
* A demonstrable understanding of ecommerce and deep experience building experiences that drive revenue.
* A strong design aesthetic that brings together brand expressions and systems thinking.
* Deep experience with business requirement gathering, end-to-journey mapping, facilitating sessions like Design Sprints, conducting competitive analysis, and leading rapid concepting and prototyping.
* A demonstrable track record working cross-functionally with shipping successful products in a fast-paced environment.
* A strategic mindset and a system thinking approach to taking the complex and make it simple.
MUST-HAVES:
10+ years of experience in UX design.
3+ years of experience managing UX design teams.
