Job Title: EHS Planning Manager

Candidate must sit in Irvine CA

100% on-site with relocation package provided for non-local candidates

Overview:
The EHS Planning Manager is responsible for leading the strategic planning and coordination of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives across the organization. This role ensures alignment with regulatory standards and internal safety objectives, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development & Strategy

    • Lead the design and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and standards to enhance workplace safety and environmental stewardship.

    • Develop and manage long- and short-term EHS plans that support company objectives and operational needs.

  • Regulatory Compliance

    • Monitor local, state, and federal EHS regulations and ensure company-wide compliance.

    • Ensure adherence to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards across all relevant sites (e.g., Ports, VPC, FF).

  • Risk Management & Assessment

    • Oversee the risk assessment process and collaborate with the EHS Operations team to proactively identify and mitigate hazards.

    • Support new projects by conducting EHS risk assessments and integrating safety considerations into planning and execution.

  • Audit & Reporting

    • Manage and maintain EHS management systems across all locations.

    • Conduct regular internal audits to ensure system compliance and performance.

    • Ensure timely submission of required reports, including OSHA documentation and environmental filings.

  • Incident Response & Emergency Preparedness

    • Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans to ensure readiness at all operational levels.

    • Lead investigations of significant incidents, ensuring proper documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration

    • Partner with Operations, HR, Procurement, and other departments to embed EHS objectives into daily operations.

    • Maintain all required EHS-related permits and licenses.

  • Training & Development

    • Design and deliver training programs to ensure awareness and adherence to EHS policies and best practices at all organizational levels.

  • Continuous Improvement & Industry Engagement

    • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes through ongoing education and participation in relevant seminars and courses.

  • Education/Trainng requirements

    • Assoc Degree required, Bachelors degree preferred

    • Extensive knowledge of Osha Standards

    • Prior experience managing teams/direct reports

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $130k to $140k. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
