As part of our client’s developer education initiative, your primary responsibility as a content writer will be to collate primary and secondary research on building and growing audiences in games and entertainment apps in the VR ecosystem. You then work with a cross functional group of stakeholders to publish that content on the Developer Center. The content will be focused on games and apps as a service, including free to play games, premium apps with add-on content, as well as subscription focused entertainment and fitness applications.
The content writer will be tasked to create content with a compelling and cohesive narrative aimed at our developer ecosystem. They will also be working with many stakeholders to get the content approved and published on our platform.
Responsibilities:
Content writing and editing, collaborating cross-functionally with stakeholders, gathering and integrating feedback from a variety of stakeholders, identifying opportunities for informative articles, aligning with stakeholders on additional research needs, building a narrative given primary research and feedback, demonstrating program management skills to track against and meet deadlines, as well as working independently with minimal supervision.
Must-Have Skills:
- Industry Context: A good understanding of the digital app industry, experience in free to play games or subscription apps is highly desired.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in game design, product management or production roles within the games or entertainment industry.
- Position Level: Open to low experience-level candidates with a short history in the games industry.
- Domain Expertise: Interest and some proficiency in free-to-play games, with an interest in game design or product management functions. Able to critically think about games.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively, especially in a cross functional setting with internal and external industry experts.
Education:
- B.A. or B.S. or relevant work experience desired
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Publishing Experience: Candidates who have published content related to the games industry, such as blog posts, articles, or research papers, will be given preference.
- Writing Samples: Candidates who can provide writing samples specific to the domain of free-to-play games that showcase expertise and writing style is a plus.
- Business Sense: Understanding of business principles and models and how they apply to the digital app ecosystem.
- Business Performance Improvement: Experience in analyzing data and making recommendations to improve business performance, such as increasing revenue or player engagement.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $55.51 to $61.68 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
