Be a driving force in developing process specifications for data collection, collaborating with a talented team of engineers, managers, and support groups. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the data infrastructure for battery production lines within the Powertrain department. This is your chance to make a tangible impact on the next generation of automotive technology.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop process specifications for data collection for battery production line machinery.
  • Provide direct support to other engineers on controls-related issues.
  • Develop and manage the collection of PLC, Touch Screen, and NC Program data for all battery machinery.
  • Pioneer innovative solutions to overcome traditional manufacturing data collection challenges.
  • Rapidly learn new processes and adapt to evolving project needs.
  • Lead and organize cross-functional activities.

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or a similar technical field, or 10+ years of equivalent professional experience in PLC programming or networking.
  • Experience developing code and troubleshooting communication protocols (ENET, ENET IP, RFID, RS232/485, and CC-Link).
  • Experience with computer software such as Ignition programming for visual communication and data transfer to servers.
  • Mitsubishi and Siemens controls programming experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 25%).
  • Ability to work weekends and non-production weeks (such as July and December holidays) as needed (up to 25%).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Apps).
  • Programming experience with C# or Python.
  • Project management and documentation skills.
  • PLC experience, including the ability to develop programs from scratch (+500 lines).
  • SQL/Oracle database experience (Postgres).

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $60.00 to $66.67 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
