Senior Mainframe Developer

Overview

Our client is seeking a senior Mainframe Developer to assist with their retirement program project. This program is our client’s legacy mainframe Security Master application charged with maintaining securities information for numerous financial products and providing that information for consumption by downstream enterprise applications. The project will be to research current mainframe processes and consumption patterns and design alternative storage and processing functions in the modernized distributed security master platform.

Responsibilities: 

• Actively participate as a scrum team member, to review and estimate work required to complete stories. 
• Work with business partners to understand and refine business requirements. 
• Research, design and develop solutions based on business requirements.
• Work with upstream and downstream development partners to articulate business requirements and assist in integration testing. 
• Code and test application changes on the various applications.
• Deploy application changes into various non-production environments. 
• Support testing efforts by troubleshooting issues and providing solutions. 

Required Skills: 

• Experience with Agile/Scrum process and Atlassian product suite.
• Experience with DB2 database 
• Experienced COBOL developer 
• Working knowledge of mainframe application design and development 
• Strong oral and written communication skills. 
• Ability to work closely and collaboratively with developers, architects, and other technology teams. 

Preferred: 

• Experience working on financial applications and securities
• Experience with Golden Source enterprise data management application

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $56.39 to $62.66 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
