This position requires you to be onsite 5 days a week.

The Communications Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the City’s narrative through storytelling and public relations efforts. This role focuses on media relations, community engagement, and internal communications, directly contributing to the City’s mission of fostering connection and promoting its initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communication plans for city initiatives.
  • Craft engaging content for websites, brochures, and internal communications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media contacts; pitch stories to secure positive coverage.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing PR on strategic projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in communications or public relations.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Media relations expertise.
  • Proficiency with CMS platforms and Microsoft Office.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $28.00 to $30.00/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
