Who you are:
We realize that content strategy and content design are constantly evolving, and we know that no two people enter this field through the same path. So we’re not expecting you to be a specialist in everything listed here, but we do ask that you demonstrate expertise commensurate with the job level in whichever methods you apply. We’re also looking for people who will contribute frameworks to our growing team and our design system, so we’re excited to see how you scale your thinking!

General Responsibilities:

  • Develop skills in writing content for digital products, including Web and app UIs, conversational experiences, and related documentation.
  • Develop an understanding of the impacts and dependencies of content decisions across product flows and systems.
  • Understand of how brand voice and tone manifest in product content.
  • Develop an understanding of how insights from research can inform content strategy decisions.
  • With guidance, explore themes based on user needs, wants, and problems.
  • Give, receive, and respond constructively to feedback.
  • Consider the project’s metrics, as well as previous test data and user feedback, when crafting or proposing new content.
  • You will discover opportunities to test content (A/B, usability, etc.) and participate in user studies.
  • Develop an understanding of accessibility, inclusion, readability, and translation standards.
  • With guidance, structure product content in appropriate formats for the user need and business problem.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or equivalent related professional experience in core skills such as UX writing, content audits and analysis, content mapping and modeling, content planning and sourcing, information architecture, and storytelling. (This is not a content marketing role.)

Requirements:

  • Shows an awareness of the fundamentals of some of these core UX design skills including UX writing, content audits and analysis, content mapping and modeling, content planning and sourcing, information architecture techniques (e.g., taxonomy, ontology), facilitation, and storytelling.
  • Understanding of human-centered design (HCD) practices.
  • A thoughtful, empathetic, and inclusive approach to content design that meets every user where they are.
  • A passion for travel and for our mission.
  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates your skills.
  • We’re especially interested in seeing examples of work you’ve done for Android and iOS apps, and if you have experience working in a platform or two-sided marketplace, it’s a definite plus!

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $67 to $75 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
