3D Generalist

Our team at Aquent is looking for a 3D Generalist to develop and implement cutting-edge 3D content and systems in a fast-paced research and development environment for a client whose HQ is in Cupertino. The individual should be a 3D generalist with experience modeling for offline and/or real time environments, synthetic data, procedural systems, machine learning, and outsourced content. The individual must be able to collaborate with cross functional teams to plan and develop various content. The ideal candidate understands content, workflow challenges, and pushing visual technical boundaries.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of AAA video game, feature film, or VFX experience
  • Proficiency in multiple content applications like Maya, 3DS Max, Substance, Houdini or others
  • General knowledge of off-line rendering pipelines (VRay), and real-time engines
  • Proficient in automated and manual asset conversion (mesh, materials, etc)
  • Proficient in physically based rendering, camera setup, lighting, scene matting, and material calibration
  • Ability to deliver high-visual quality within performance/time constraints
  • General knowledge of Python/PyMEL,MaxScript or C/C++

Education:

  • Bachelors or Master in Computer Arts or similar; and 3+ years of industry experience

Additional Experience:

  • Extremely detail-oriented, naming conventions, asset requirements, efficient, and high quality work
  • Ability to identify opportunities for visual, workflow, and efficiency improvements
  • Ability to work quickly and flexibly in a prototyping environment
  • Desire to procedurally generate content without sacrificing artistic integrity
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $54.72 to $60.80 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
