Aquent Studios is seeking a dynamic Managing Director to be the driving force behind our business growth and creative operations for marquee pharma clients. This role is integral in leading our client engagements, creative teams, fostering growth, and maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence. The successful candidate will be a bold leader, a strategic thinker, and an effective communicator, capable of inspiring teams and clients. One of our newest marquee clients is Sanofi and our team will be responsible for creating effective Consumer Experiences for both their consumers and their internal employees. 

Please note required locations: We are seeking folks located only within the Boston, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut areas. (Required: Must be willing to travel Boston frequently from other East Coast locations).

 

Required: Will only consider candidates who bring strong professional background and institional knowledge working with pharma clients. Must have proven operational success leading CX/ UX teams. 

 

Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

  • Collaborate with Aquent Studios leadership to oversee day-to-day operations of a team of 15 to start.

  • Manage and deliver large CX projects and engagements, ensuring they are on time and within budget, while overseeing scope, risk, schedule, QA, and communication.

  • Anticipate and address resource requirements, skill sets, and team allocation, adjusting as necessary to support company growth and profitability.

  • Integrate tools and technology into established creative processes to constantly evolve our capabilities.

  • Strong understanding of the MLR process, managing CX, Editorial and creative projects through that process.

Business Development and Client Management:

  • Oversee the pipeline of new business expansion, assessing viability, pricing, margins, and risk factors.

  • Proactively expand and nurture relationships with existing clients.

  • Lead long-term strategic planning efforts to generate revenue while optimizing operational efficiency and increasing client satisfaction.

  • Develop a premium client experience that positions our company as the preferred destination for innovative clients.

Financial Management:

  • Drive top-line and bottom-line growth while meeting profit margin goals.

  • Own new program scoping, schedule management, and cost estimation.

  • Manage Profit & Loss (P&L) and client relationships.

  • Ensure project revenue management, profitability, cost analysis, and reporting.

 

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, providing regular and meaningful feedback.

  • Build and shape the team based on projected agency growth and opportunities.

 

Quality Assurance and Best-in-Class Creative, Design and Development:

  • Foster a culture of creative, design and development excellence, setting high standards for the team.

  • Ensure the highest quality of proposals and value pricing models.

Strategic Planning and Innovation:

  • Play an active role in the agency leadership team, contributing to the evolution of the agency and its offerings.

  • Pioneer new ways of thinking and identify emerging industry trends.

  • Lead with an entrepreneurial spirit, transforming vision into execution.

Communication and Conflict Resolution:

  • Manage stakeholder communication effectively and transparently.

  • Navigate and resolve conflicts and project escalations with confidence and professionalism.

Legal and Security Compliance:

  • Handle contract administration, terms and conditions, NDAs, SOWs, and project contracts.

  • Ensure strict client security protocols and confidential communication.

Thought Leadership:

  • Exhibit excellent writing skills for proposals, articles, blogs, and essays.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in business operations, preferably in a creative consulting services company or similar field.

  • Proven track record in managing complex, cross-functional projects within a creative agency.

  • Experience in scaling a business group or facilitating organizational growth.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to lead and inspire diverse teams.

  • Proven experience with cultivating senior-level client relationships.

  • Technical knowledge of creative development processes and emerging technologies.

  • Experience in managing projects related to experiential design or digital transformation a plus.

 

Compensation Range: $100,000 – $150,000 

The range provided is our reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location.
