Aquent Studios is a co-creation agency with over 700 internal employees and thousands of freelancers all across the globe. The company is built around an innovative staffing model that works for both clients and talent in the digital and creative industries. B2B agency marketplace DesignRush recently interviewed Aquent Studios VP of Strategy Solutions Corey O’Brien about the success of the company and how it has kept up with the latest industry trends.

O’Brien says that Aquent Studios is “focused on enabling and empowering clients to craft stories and experiences through our capabilities within strategy, enablement, and activation.” He likens it to a creative agency that, on a daily basis, has roughly 800 people working on client projects.

To find the best talent for those projects, Aquent Studios relies on Aquent Talent, the recruiting and talent-services arm of Aquent, to screen and interview thousands of creative candidates both for client-managed freelance opportunities and client-managed staff augmentation. Clients like Starbucks, GoPro, and Williams-Sonoma love the scalability and simplicity, while top-notch talent love the flexibility and robust benefits, like an annual learning reimbursement.

But what really makes the Aquent Studios model work is its ability to tailor-build teams and skills to the work at hand on any given project. O’Brien says the company has seen double-digit growth every year for the past six years and will soon offer a metaverse practice to help clients navigate the new channel, move the needle, and stay ahead of the curve.
