About the Role: UX Designer
Are you a visionary UX Designer ready to make a significant impact on high-traffic, foundational digital experiences? This is an extraordinary opportunity to own outcomes for critical projects, define scalable design approaches, and evangelize long-term user experience strategies for a platform that guides millions daily. You will be instrumental in shaping how users decide where to go, how to get there, and what to do when they arrive, influencing the very fabric of digital discovery and navigation. Your work will not only solve complex problems with limited precedent but also challenge prevailing thinking, guiding multiple adjacent design efforts and provoking greater divergence of thought to achieve common objectives.
What You’ll Do:
- Own and drive the outcomes for mature projects, complex programs, or emerging areas within core local journeys, ensuring a scalable and sustainable approach to difficult problems.
- Define and evangelize long-term user experience and product strategies for your team, pushing the boundaries of design and innovation.
- Influence and guide the momentum of multiple adjacent design efforts, providing alternative perspectives that challenge existing paradigms and foster new thinking.
- Deliver comprehensive, production-ready designs, including detailed specs, interactive prototypes, user flows, and assets, seamlessly integrating concepts into production while adhering to and evolving design systems.
- Champion user-centric solutions by partnering closely with a diverse cross-functional team, including other designers, researchers, content strategists, product managers, engineers, marketing specialists, and data scientists.
- Contribute to the design of foundational, high-traffic surfaces related to utility and discovery within a world-renowned navigation and local information platform.
- Shape experiences that empower users to effortlessly find places, save discoveries, get inspired, and access detailed information about their destinations.
What You’ll Bring:
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience owning the outcomes of complex design projects or programs, demonstrating the ability to navigate and define strategic solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and evangelize long-term user experience and product strategies.
- Expertise in delivering production-ready designs, including comprehensive design specifications, high-fidelity prototypes, detailed user flows, and all necessary assets.
- Strong portfolio showcasing experience in pushing the boundaries of design systems and seamlessly moving concepts into production.
- Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, with a track record of partnering effectively with broader UX teams (Design, Research, Content Strategy) and peers across Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Data Science to champion user-centric solutions.
- Ability to influence and guide the momentum of multiple adjacent design efforts, providing alternative perspectives and provoking divergent thinking.
