What Will You Do:
As a Content Designer on our central team, you will shape the digital experience for millions of clients using the Mobile Banking App. In this role, you will apply ruthless editing and strategic thinking to deliver mobile-first content that is brief, consistent, and clear.
You will collaborate daily with cross-functional partners—including product managers, project managers, business analysts, developers, and QA teams—to define client and business needs, evaluate solutions, and create content that drives client engagement. You will bridge what our mobile app can do with what truly matters to our clients, ensuring every screen and interaction delivers clear value.
Mobile Content Creation & Systems
- Draft, edit, and document client-focused UX copy that meets RBC’s mobile content standards (concise, clear, and action-oriented), including microcopy, tooltips, button labels, and transactional messaging.
- Apply and contribute to the app’s design system and content principles to ensure consistent tone and voice across mobile journeys.
- Support content localization and translation workflows, leveraging basic written French skills where needed to identify and resolve translation issues.
- Explore and integrate AI tools into your daily workflow to streamline content exploration, iteration, and documentation.
Collaboration & Problem-Solving
- Work directly alongside UX designers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA teams to define problems, frame jobs-to-be-done, and deliver cohesive solutions.
- Support cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle, from initial ideation and wireframing through to testing and launch.
- Manage multiple concurrent mobile design projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Research, Testing & Strategy
- Collaborate with design teammates to research user and business requirements, framing key questions for usability testing.
- Create, test, and iterate on copy variations to measure effectiveness and improve overall client engagement.
- Identify opportunities for experience improvements within the mobile app and proactively pitch content-led solutions.
What’s In It For You
- High Impact: Design solutions used daily by millions of mobile banking clients across Canada.
- Supportive Community: Join a collaborative design team where you will be mentored by subject-matter experts and supported in your professional growth.
- Modern Tools & Practices: Work at the forefront of digital product design, exploring emerging trends such as AI tools and agentic user experiences.
- Growth & Scale: Build foundational skills in design systems, cross-functional collaboration, and mobile UX strategy in an agile environment.
What You Will Bring:
Must-Have Qualifications
- Experience: 0–4 years of experience in UX writing, copywriting, or digital content creation (entry to early-career level).
- Skills & Mindset: Strong writing and editing skills with a focus on mobile-first, concise content. A curious, analytical mindset with solid problem-solving abilities.
- Design & Tools:
-
Some hands-on experience using Figma for design and copy handoff.
- Practical exposure to or experience with AI writing/productivity tools.
- Basic understanding of digital product design principles and mobile UX.
-
- Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with comfort working across multiple projects and teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with project management and documentation tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Basic, working knowledge of written French (sufficient to review translations and spot errors/contextual issues).
- Exposure to content strategy projects or design systems.
- Experience or interest in designing agentic experiences or AI-driven conversational flows.
- Prior experience working within large design teams and multi-stakeholder corporate environments.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is C$40 to C$43 hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
