Our Beauty clients North American division is seeking an experienced and dedicated HR Project Manager to lead and deliver critical Human Resources projects across our diverse operational landscape, which includes US and Canada corporate HR, US Distribution Centers, and a store fleet spanning the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. This role is essential in ensuring HR-related initiatives are executed efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with business objectives.

The HR Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of various HR projects, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, control, and closure. This individual will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality criteria, while effectively managing resources and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage multiple complex and/or critical cross-functional HR projects, including but not limited to implementations of new HR programs, processes, and technologies.
  • Lifecycle Management: Demonstrated ability to lead large HR-related initiatives/projects through the entire project lifecycle.
  • Planning & Risk Mitigation: Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, proactively identifying and managing risks, scope changes, and dependencies.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to quickly identify, communicate, and mitigate risks associated with HR projects, ensuring timely resolution and escalation as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively identify, analyze, and manage stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Goal Setting: Define project objectives, deliverables, and success metrics in collaboration with HR leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders to understand project requirements, define role/responsibility clarity, and assess people impacts.
  • Team Integration: Collaborate with HR Change Management Leads and other project team members to ensure effective coordination and integration of project activities.
  • Communication: Provide regular project status updates, reports, and presentations to stakeholders at all levels, from executive leadership to end-line workers.
  • Training & Change Support: Partner with the HR Change Management Lead to oversee the development and delivery of targeted training programs and change communications to equip employees and HR teams with the necessary skills and knowledge related to new HR systems and processes.
  • Organizational Design: Support organizational design efforts and the definition of roles and responsibilities within HR and across operational teams as new HR systems and processes are implemented.
  • Evaluation: Evaluate project outcomes and gather feedback for continuous improvement, ensuring project deliverables meet the intended business value.
  • Business Acumen: Strong HR business acumen with ability to communicate and lead across all levels from Executive to end-line workers.
  • Reporting Tools: Manage existing project tracking tools and dashboards, and create new ones as needed, to monitor project progress and facilitate executive-level reporting.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in HR Project Management, with a primary focus on HR functional experience and secondary HR system-oriented experience.
  • Certification: Certified Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) certification preferred.
  • Track Record: Demonstrated experience in successfully managing large-scale HR projects from inception to closure.
  • Adaptability: Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication Style: Excellent written and vocal communication skills across all levels, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders from front-line employees to senior executives.
  • Influence: Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence outcomes.
  • Relationship Management: Proven ability to identify, engage, and manage diverse stakeholder groups, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience with HR systems, including HRIS, payroll, time & attendance, and applicant tracking systems.
  • Industry Background: Retail industry preferred (HR Functions applied to Store fleet, Corporate and Distribution Centers).
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft O365 suite, including Teams, Outlook, and Forms.
  • Preferred Systems: SAP SuccessFactors & Dayforce Workforce Management (WFM/Payroll) a plus.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $44.00 to $49.00. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
