The Opportunity
Looking for an Account Executive to lead outbound sales efforts and accelerate commercial growth. This is a foundational role for someone who thrives in early-stage environments, enjoys building from the ground up, and knows how to navigate complex technical sales cycles.
You’ll own the full customer journey — from prospecting and relationship-building to negotiation and close — while helping shape the company’s go-to-market strategy as an early member of the commercial team.
We’re looking for a driven seller with deep curiosity, strong commercial instincts, and experience within the HVAC, building systems, or adjacent technical industries.
What You’ll Do
- Generate new business opportunities across commercial real estate, building ownership, engineering firms, and mechanical contractors
- Build and manage a robust outbound pipeline through cold outreach, referrals, networking, industry events, and market research
- Own the full sales cycle from discovery through contract execution and signed purchase orders
- Position HVAC solutions around energy efficiency, operational performance, and long-term cost savings
- Partner closely with engineering and technical teams to develop customized proposals and solutions
- Help shape sales messaging, pricing strategy, and go-to-market processes as an early commercial hire
- Develop long-term customer relationships that drive repeat business and strategic partnerships
- Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements that align customer needs with company goals
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM hygiene
- Deliver market intelligence and customer feedback to leadership on competitive trends and buyer needs
What We’re Looking For
You’re commercially minded, technically credible, and energized by creating opportunity from scratch. You combine strong relationship-building skills with the persistence needed to succeed in long and complex sales cycles.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of B2B closing experience
- 2–5+ years selling commercial HVAC, mechanical systems, building technologies, or related technical solutions
- Proven success sourcing and closing net-new business
- Experience selling into commercial building stakeholders, including owners, operators, engineers, contractors, or developers
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical equipment
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Experience managing technical evaluations, proposals, and contract negotiations
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and structured pipeline management
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving startup environment
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at an early-stage or high-growth startup
- Background in energy efficiency, decarbonization, or climate technology
- Familiarity with DOAS, ventilation systems, or advanced air-side technologies
- Existing relationships within commercial real estate or mechanical contractor networks
- Experience selling service agreements, maintenance contracts, or performance-based offerings
