We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate individual to join our multidisciplinary, agile team. In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of researching, defining, designing, and building the core components of an evolving, theme-able design system. Your contributions will directly enable the creation of consistent, high-quality user experiences across a wide array of digital platforms. This is an exceptional chance to leverage your design systems expertise and research acumen to drive significant change and standardization within a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead comprehensive discovery, research, and requirements gathering efforts for new features and functionalities within the design system, actively responding to user feedback and collaborating with business and technology partners.
• Design and develop innovative, accessible components and templates for commercial websites, integrating them into a sophisticated token-based, theme-able design system that supports strategic initiatives across a diverse product portfolio.
• Identify and champion opportunities for standardization and simplification, ensuring alignment with design system strategy and accepted UX/UI best practices.
• Ensure all design system elements adhere to existing, evolving internal standards and global parent design system guidelines.
• Collaborate continuously to iterate upon and refine design system components and templates, actively evolving and maintaining the system to meet dynamic user needs.

What You’ll Bring:

• Extensive experience as a Senior Design Systems Designer/Researcher, with a proven track record of contributing to and evolving complex design systems.
• Exceptional expertise in design tools, including comprehensive knowledge of libraries, components, variable modes, tokens, and auto-layout.
• Demonstrated experience in both leveraging existing design systems and building new ones from the ground up.
• Strong background in discovery, user research, and requirements gathering methodologies.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including experience design, business stakeholders, and technology partners.
• Deep understanding of accessibility best practices and their application in design systems.
• Solid grasp of UX/UI best practices and principles.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $85 to $95 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
