The SEO Writer is responsible for producing high-quality, search‑optimized articles that educate readers, attract prospective students, and drive organic traffic to our university websites. Writers will create 10–20 SEO‑focused articles per month, working from detailed creative briefs and using AI‑assisted tools to streamline drafting. This role requires the ability to research complex topics—primarily in healthcare, but also in business, technology, and other academic domains—and translate them into accessible, accurate, prospective-student‑focused content. This is a remote role, ~20 hours a week

Key Responsibilities
Content Development
Write 10–20 SEO articles per month based on assigned topics, keywords, and briefs.
Draft content using AI tools (e.g., Writer) to support efficiency while maintaining accuracy and brand quality.
Incorporate primary and secondary keywords, internal linking opportunities, and SEO best practices into every article.
Produce clear, engaging, and educational content that aligns with the university’s voice and mission.
Verify facts using credible sources; interpret complex information into student‑friendly language.
Understand AIO (optimized for AI & LLMs) best practices.
Learn and maintain fluency in the university’s brand voice, tone, and messaging guidelines.
Follow editorial style guides (AP style + internal style rules).
Adapt tone appropriately for different article types (e.g., educational guides, career overviews, program‑focused content).
Work with minimal oversight and meet deadlines independently.

Qualifications
2–4+ years of experience writing SEO‑optimized content, preferably for higher education, healthcare, or related fields.
Strong understanding of SEO writing principles, including keyword strategy, user intent, and content structure.
Ability to write quickly and accurately while producing high‑quality drafts.
Experience using AI writing tools (ideally Writer) to support research and drafting.
Strong research and fact‑checking skills.
Ability to understand academic programs and translate them into accessible, compelling content.
Excellent time‑management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines.
Experience writing about higher education or healthcare topics a strong plus.
Experience with Workfront a plus.
