This is a hybrid role in Vancouver, BC that will start as a 6 month engagement and can extend up to 18 month.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to act as a crucial bridge between development and quality assurance. In this role, you will be embedded within development teams, providing essential early testing and creating comprehensive documentation. You’ll be the first line of defense, tackling tasks that allow core QA teams to focus on deeper, more complex challenges, and serving as a key point of contact for both design questions and testing status updates. Your contributions will directly enhance the efficiency of the development cycle and elevate the overall quality of our interactive experiences, particularly across live modes, campaign narratives, and core gameplay.
What You’ll Do
- Provide proactive, early-stage testing for development teams, identifying issues and offering actionable feedback.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including test cases, test briefs, and quality assurance pages.
- Serve as the primary liaison for the quality assurance team, addressing design inquiries and ensuring clear communication.
- Act as the initial point of contact for development teams seeking updates on testing status or requesting adjustments to testing priorities.
- Contribute to the health and quality of features by providing regular feedback to QA Leads and development teams.
- Adapt quickly to evolving content and proprietary tools, ensuring continuous support throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, Development, and Production teams to foster a cohesive and efficient workflow.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Proven experience across multiple development cycles, with a strong focus on online PVP & PVE game modes, campaign game modes, and core gameplay.
- Deep understanding and practical experience in:
- Match Flow & Gameplay Systems Testing
- Combat & AI Testing
- Multiplayer Functionality Testing
- Map & Environmental Testing
- Performance & Stability Testing
- Mission Flow & Progression Testing
- Co-op & Split-screen Testing
- Cinematics & Narrative Testing
- Save System & Checkpoints
- Environment Testing
- Familiarity with industry-standard bug tracking and test planning tools (e.g., Jira, DevTrack, TestRail).
- Exceptional organizational and documentation skills, with a keen eye for reproducibility and clarity.
- Outstanding communication skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse teams across QA, Development, and Production.
- A strong willingness to learn and adapt to proprietary tools, pipelines, and rapidly changing content.
- Ability to work a standard Monday-Friday 40-hour week, with comfort for potential overtime during high-volume periods (up to approximately 16 additional hours per week).
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with Unreal Engine.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Perforce, and SharePoint.
- Strong adaptable teaching skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to various learning styles.
- Familiarity with established game series known for their multiplayer modes.
