Creative Project Management is the internal creative agency engine, linking all functions and managing workflows end-to-end to deliver all campaigns and initiatives with excellence. Associate Creative Project Managers work closely with Project Managers, Account Management, Creative, and Production daily to ensure that projects move seamlessly through the system and that anticipated challenges are addressed early.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Intake & Resourcing: Partner with Account Managers on project intake, ensure resources are appropriately assigned, and open jobs in the project management system (Workfront).
  • Timeline Management: Develop detailed project schedules, ensuring Account, Creative, and Production teams are aligned on key milestones and timeline shifts.
  • Cross-Channel Execution: Support the execution of creative work across media channels (digital, print), ensuring timelines reflect the specific nuances of each deliverable.
  • End-to-End Oversight: Guide projects from inception to completion, acting as the primary “go-to” person for project status.
  • System Maintenance: Ensure all project milestones are updated in the agency’s project management software as work progresses.
  • Internal Communication: Own and lead internal status meetings and maintain documentation to ensure clarity on weekly milestones and deliverables.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Identify scheduling, resourcing, or potential challenges well in advance and offer solutions to stakeholders.
  • Team Support: Follow up with creative and production teams to ensure they have the necessary assets and information to meet timing milestones.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work with Account Managers and Business Affairs to route work to appropriate partners (legal, trademark, corporate communications, etc.) during development.
  • Collaborative Communication: Communicate effectively with both internal and external cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–5 years of project management experience within an advertising agency, in-house creative group, or a relevant professional environment.
  • Project Scope: Proven experience supporting projects of various sizes, with a preference for creative-based initiatives.

Core Behaviors

  • High Accountability: Takes full “ownership” of projects from intake to completion.

  • Presence & Urgency: Maintains a strong professional presence in meetings and correspondence while responding to team needs with speed and consistency.
  • Servant Leadership: Leads project teams and holds members accountable while respecting the creative decision-making process.
  • Solutions-Oriented: Acts as a creative problem solver who overcomes hurdles with a sense of calm.
  • Relationship Management: Skilled at establishing and maintaining relationships with partners and peers at all levels.
  • Master Negotiation: Understands how to manage timelines, deliverables, and feedback effectively by pulling the right strategic levers.
  • Independence: Capable of “running blind” and moving initiatives forward through discovery and trial-and-error with minimal daily handholding.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $42.00/hr – $47.00/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
