Job Title: Project Manager – Training & Content Development

This is a fully remote role, working EST hours, candidates must provide their own laptop and any necessary software to do the job.

Candidates must be Canada based.

The Project Manager – Training & Content Development manages all aspects of learning and training content projects for the organization. This role supports the full project lifecycle – planning, coordinating, tracking, and delivering training materials such as eLearning modules, videos, documentation, and other learning assets.

The Project Manager collaborates closely with instructional designers, content developers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and cross-functional teams to ensure all project deliverables are completed on time, within budgetary guidelines, and aligned with established learning objectives. The Project Manager handles basic project issues, escalates more complex challenges when needed, and continues to build expertise in project management and training

development processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and execute training and content development projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Coordinate the work activities of multiple functions—including instructional design, content development, quality assurance, and SME engagement.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle: planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery.
  • Tracks progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators, and prepares reports to senior management.
  • Assists with the selection, negotiation, and managing of all activities regarding external consultants or vendors.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, timelines, task trackers, and status reports.
  • Manage workflows for content reviews, feedback collection, and revisions.
  • Monitor quality assurance processes to ensure training materials meet brand, instructional, and accessibility standards.
  • Facilitate project meetings, record decisions, and ensure action items are completed.
  • Support the implementation of learning technologies such as Learning Management Systems
  • (LMS) or content authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Rise, Captivate).
  • Track project budgets and vendor invoices as needed.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives to streamline training content development.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Education, Instructional Design, Communications, or

a related field (or equivalent experience).

Possesses beginning to working knowledge of project management and training

development subject matter.

Experience:

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in project coordination or management, ideally within learning and development, training, or content development.
  • Performs work under direct supervision
  • Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Familiarity with eLearning development workflows and instructional design processes.
  • Experience using project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, Jira, Monday.com, Microsoft Project).

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work across diverse teams.
  • Understanding of training content formats (eLearning, video, instructor-led training, job aids, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and content publishing workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, OneDrive; familiarity with creative tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate across departments.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams, SMEs, clients, and
  • vendors.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and research needed information to support project decisions.
  • Foundational project management and project scheduling skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Agile or iterative project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with SCORM, xAPI, or other eLearning standards.
  • Experience working with vendors or freelance instructional designers.
