**What You’ll Do**

As a pivotal member of the team, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues and stakeholders, acting as a natural problem solver, communicator, and facilitator throughout the entire design process. Your expertise will be crucial in crafting intuitive and impactful digital interactions.

* **Interaction Design Strategy & Leadership:**
* Leverage your understanding of user interface patterns and behaviors to enhance user comprehension and optimize task performance.
* Design compelling visualizations and interactions that facilitate analytic thinking, especially with large datasets.
* Lead design critiques, evaluating interactions for inclusivity and offering expert guidance to cross-functional teams.
* Facilitate dynamic ideation sessions and collaborative work activities to foster innovation.
* Serve as the subject-matter expert for interaction design within the product design team.
* **Interaction Artifact Creation & Communication:**
* Apply a deep understanding of interaction design theory, research data, and best practices to inform all design decisions.
* Develop complex artifacts that effectively communicate task flows, touchpoints, user behaviors, and information exchange.
* Create intricate low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate design concepts.
* Produce detailed prototypes that provide precise delivery specifications for development teams.
* Present sophisticated interaction design work to senior stakeholders, articulating rationale and impact.
* **Research and Testing:**
* Facilitate comprehensive usability testing to gather critical user insights.
* Actively participate in or initiate various research activities to inform design.
* Conduct thorough research into interaction design strategies within the financial services sector and perform competitive audits relevant to specific design or business objectives.
* Perform detailed pattern, micro-interaction, and component design audits as needed to maintain consistency and quality.

**What You’ll Bring**

* **Must-Have Qualifications:**
* A BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience designing usable interfaces across diverse channels and platforms.
* Proven experience in an applied research setting, including successfully integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
* Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic, including describing benefits and highlighting risks associated with design decisions.
* Expertise with industry-standard design, prototyping, and research tools such as Figma, Mural, and UserTesting.com.

* **Bonus Points (Nice-to-Have Qualifications):**
* An MA/MS degree or certification in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field.
* A strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of various research methods, including when and how to apply them effectively during each product phase.
* An appreciation for the potential and application of ‘design thinking’ methodologies.
* Experience working within a large organization and within an agile development environment.
