We are expanding our roster of trusted, highly skilled freelance designers to support ongoing creative initiatives for top-tier clients. We’re seeking career freelancers — professionals who combine refined creative sensibility with strong technical execution and accountability. These designers should bring an elevated design style, a polished, modern aesthetic, and a portfolio that reflects exceptional craft and versatility.

This is an opportunity to collaborate with a fast-moving, creative agency team on campaign-driven work across digital, retail, and social channels. Projects will range from concept adaptation to large-scale asset versioning, requiring both creativity and precision.

What We’re Looking For

Profile:

  • Career Freelancers: Established independent designers who take ownership, communicate proactively, and deliver consistently at a high standard.
  • Elevated Design Style: A refined eye for composition, lighting, hierarchy, and balance — able to create visually striking and on-brand creative that feels premium and contemporary.
  • Strong Portfolio: Demonstrated range of work showcasing campaign systems, typography, motion, and multi-platform design execution.
  • Typography Expertise: Deep understanding of typography, type pairing, and hierarchy, with the ability to use type as a strategic design element.
  • Lighting and Composition: Keen sense of visual storytelling through lighting, shadow, and spatial design to enhance mood and brand tone.
  • Versioning & Scalability: Skilled at adapting and versioning creative across multiple platforms and formats — from social and email to retail and digital campaigns.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects); audio or motion design experience a plus.
  • Detail-Oriented: Precision in every pixel — no mistakes, no inconsistencies. A true craftsperson who values quality control.
  • Collaborative & Curious: A “yes, and…” mindset — open to feedback, eager to learn, and skilled at collaborating with creative directors and art directors to bring concepts to life.
  • Industry Experience: Preferred experience working in agency or PR agency settings, ideally with exposure to Portland-based creative culture or major brands such as Nike, Adidas, or other lifestyle/retail accounts.

Engagement Details

  • Contract Type: Freelance / Project-based
  • Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week to start (2-month contract), with potential for extension and additional hours based on performance and project volume
  • Location: Remote (Portland experience or familiarity with creative culture preferred)
  • Start Date: Immediate

Internal Notes

  • Focus on career freelancers with elevated visual taste, precision, and proven campaign experience.
  • Portfolios should demonstrate strong typography, lighting, and system-based design thinking — not just visuals, but conceptual clarity.
  • Candidates must show experience in versioning assets for multiple platforms (social, web, email, retail, motion).
  • Patrick and the review team should continue to emphasize detail orientation and error-free execution in all candidate evaluations.
