Join a team where your meticulous attention to detail and data expertise will directly contribute to maintaining the integrity and accessibility of critical information, ensuring seamless operations and informed decision-making across the enterprise. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on the foundational data that fuels their mission.
The Role
We are seeking a technically-proficient Data Governance Systems Administrator for a 12-month contract (with potential for conversion) within our Data & Analytics organization. In this role, you will be the primary technical steward for our data governance tooling ecosystem—specifically, Atlan and Monte Carlo.
This is a technical operations and administrative position rather than a policy-writing role. You will ensure the “plumbing” of our data intelligence tools is seamless, managing everything from metadata ingestion and service accounts to monitoring data quality alerts and facilitating stakeholder training.
Key Responsibilities
- Tool Administration: Lead the technical operation and administration of Atlan (Data Catalog) and Monte Carlo (Data Observability) or equivalent governance platforms.
- Metadata Management: Facilitate and monitor the ingestion of metadata and data quality metrics from various data platforms and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Systems Support: Manage data cataloging, tagging, lineage setup, service account management, backups, and system monitoring.
- Stakeholder Enablement: Act as the technical bridge for end-users. Conduct workshops, training sessions, and presentations to help developers and leadership leverage governance tools effectively.
- Technical Implementation: Collaborate with the strategy team to turn high-level data governance requirements into technical reality within the systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: Approximately 5–7 years of professional experience in data operations, systems administration, or technical data governance.
- Tooling Expertise: Direct experience with Atlan and Monte Carlo is highly preferred. Experience with comparable enterprise tools will be considered.
- Cloud Proficiency: Familiarity with Cloud Platforms, particularly GCP (Google Cloud Platform); Azure experience is also relevant.
- Technical Literacy: Solid understanding of data lineage, metadata harvesting, and data quality practices. Ability to manage service accounts and monitor system health.
- Communication: Strong soft skills with the ability to lead training sessions and engage with stakeholders across the organization.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
Logistics & Details
- Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote).
- Duration: 12-month contract (Potential for full-time conversion).
- Hiring Urgency: High priority; seeking candidates available for an immediate start.
