**About the Opportunity**
We are seeking an exceptional Digital Product Designer to join a dynamic team dedicated to crafting seamless and impactful digital experiences. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the user journey across various digital products, with a particular focus on native mobile design. You will leverage your deep understanding of design systems and mobile platforms to refine and extend our client’s digital offerings, ensuring every interaction is intuitive, engaging, and data-driven. **What You’ll Do**

* **Design Strategy & Vision (20%)**
* Apply a profound understanding of user interface patterns and behaviors to enhance user comprehension and optimize task performance.
* Utilize advanced visualizations and interactions to facilitate analytical thinking, especially with large datasets.
* Lead design critiques, evaluate interactions for inclusivity, and provide expert guidance to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
* Facilitate engaging ideation sessions and collaborative design activities to foster innovation.
* Serve as the primary subject-matter expert for interaction design within the product design team.
* **Web and Mobile Artifact Creation (60%)**
* Inform design decisions by applying a comprehensive understanding of interaction design theory, visual design theory, research data, and industry best practices.
* Develop complex low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate design concepts effectively.
* Create sophisticated prototypes that provide precise delivery specifications for development teams.
* Present interaction design work with clarity and conviction to senior stakeholders, articulating design rationale and impact.
* **Research and Testing (20%)**
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design researchers and product stakeholders, to inform design decisions through research discussions, user testing, and data analysis.
* Lead and facilitate usability testing sessions to gather critical user feedback.
* Actively participate in or initiate research activities to deepen understanding of user needs and behaviors.
* Conduct comprehensive research into interaction design strategies within the financial services sector and perform competitive audits relevant to specific design or business objectives.
* Execute pattern, micro-interaction, and component design audits as needed to maintain consistency and quality.

**Must-Have Qualifications:**

* BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* A compelling portfolio showcasing application design samples.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing web and native mobile applications.
* Strong technical understanding of mobile platforms.
* Strong understanding of design systems and their application.
* Demonstrated experience in an applied research setting, including integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
* Proven ability to articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic, clearly describing benefits and highlighting risks associated with design decisions.
* Expertise with industry-standard design, prototyping, and research tools such as Figma, Mural, UserTesting.com, Alida, and Maze.

**Nice-to-Have Qualifications:**

* Experience designing authenticated user experiences within financial services.
* MA/MS degree or certification in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field.
* Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of various research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
* An appreciation for the potential of ‘design thinking’ methodologies.
* Experience working within a large organization and an agile development environment.
