About the Role

As an Email Developer, you will be at the forefront of digital communication, translating marketing and business visions into compelling and effective email campaigns. You’ll leverage your technical prowess to execute complex campaigns, ensuring they are not only visually appealing but also highly functional, compliant, and accessible. This role offers a unique opportunity to innovate, collaborate across diverse teams, and continuously enhance the customer journey through impactful email strategies.

What You’ll Do

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Execute sophisticated email campaigns, incorporating advanced customer segmentation, rigorous testing protocols, and precise technical implementation.
  • Apply industry best practices in email development, ensuring full compliance with regulations and adherence to accessibility standards.
  • Set up, rigorously test, and launch intricate email campaigns featuring dynamic content, and expertly troubleshoot HTML, CSS, and other performance-related issues.
  • Perform essential coding and database tasks to support email functionality and data integration.
  • Drive the modernization and evolution of email design, build, and deployment processes to create industry-leading email experiences.

  • Ensure the timely delivery of all project deliverables, maintaining a strong focus on efficiency and results.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to processes and work methods, fostering greater operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and a strong self-starter mentality, taking initiative in all aspects of your work.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships and collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Partner with colleagues across various business groups to resolve challenges and develop innovative technical solutions.
  • Actively share knowledge and contribute to the growth and skill development of fellow team members.
  • Analyze complex business and system requirements, translating them into practical and effective technical solutions.
  • Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Engage confidently with business partners, including senior leadership, representing the technical perspective with clarity and expertise.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business and marketing functions you support, aligning technical solutions with strategic goals.
  • Embrace continuous learning from colleagues, marketing partners, and various platforms, approaching every project with a positive, solution-oriented mindset.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated proficiency in email development, with a strong emphasis on skill and practical application.
  • Comprehensive mastery of all aspects of email marketing and systems, including template configuration and management, dynamic content, and data extension queries.
  • Expert-level skills in the design and development within leading marketing automation platforms, coupled with a deep understanding of platform features.
  • In-depth knowledge of leading marketing automation platforms and their comprehensive suite of applications (email, social, SMS), including familiarity with CRM system connectors and campaign management tools (such as content builders, interaction studios, and campaign studios). Ability to implement AI-driven personalization features.
  • Experience with various email marketing platforms beyond a single dominant system.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Adobe Creative Suite, and experience with integrating external systems via API.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of AMPscript, jQuery, and Next.js.
  • Prior experience within the financial services industry or an advertising agency environment.
